about

‘Appreciate what is already there.’

Hi, I am Pearl Sijmons and I am a textile artist and photographer. I call myself a contemporary impressionist. I want to depict my impression of the real, volatile and moving world with the right light and emotion.

Nature and re-use are central to my work. I believe we humans take (too) much from nature, so we have to give something back. I want to show how beautiful art can be, without new sources.

I want to encourage people to appreciate the world around them instead of always longing for more and further away. There is so much beauty in our immediate environment – go out, see what you have and admire what is close by.

In a world that constantly strives for more there is a quiet wisdom in the ability to pause and appreciate what already is.
